President Kantak began her Teamster career in 1999 at Local 231 in Bellingham, WA. From there, she blazed a path from the front office to business agent, to becoming a member of the executive boards for Local 38, Local 231 and Joint Council No. 28. She currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of Local 38 and President of Joint Council of Teamsters 28. Both firsts in the history of Local 38 and the Joint Council. She has a reputation as a champion for worker rights and the labor movement securing record setting contracts in multiple industries throughout the region. She also serves as a trustee on the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Fund as well as on the Washington Teamsters Health and Welfare Trust. Her sole focus during her career has been to build worker power through solidarity and putting the members first.
